A while back we shared our Culinary Institute adventure (HR and Recruiters by Day – Chefs by Night!). That day was full of laughter, teamwork, and probably too much butter, and it was a perfect reminder of why these moments matter.
Why Team Builders Matter
Team builders are important because they:
- Strengthen trust and communication: We get to see each other in new situations, which builds trust and helps us communicate more openly.
- Bring our core values to life: Whether it is problem-solving, flexibility, or positive energy, these moments give us space to practice what we preach.
- Re-energize our work: Stepping away together from the day-to-day gives us fresh perspective and energy to bring back to our clients.
That is exactly why we make time for them! They are not just fun outings; they are an intentional way to strengthen relationships, live our values, and bring fresh energy back to our work.
August: Outbreak at Mastermind Escape Rooms
Most recently, in August, our team decided to test our problem-solving skills in an escape room. One hour, lots of puzzles, and plenty of laughs later…and guess what? We made it out! What stood out most was watching our team lean into each other’s strengths. Some spotted the tiny details, others pieced together the big picture, and everyone worked seamlessly together under pressure.
Up Next: Yoga & Mimosas
Next up this month: Yoga & Mimosas. After the escape room, it feels right to slow down as we head into the busiest time of the year for us (think handbooks, performance reviews, comp adjustments, benefit enrollment, etc.).
Team building is not one-size-fits-all. Sometimes it is about fast-paced competition, and sometimes it is about creating calm, shared moments. Both matter.
These experiences remind us that HR-Rethought is not just a group of people who work side by side. We are a team that thrives when we invest in each other. That’s the same energy we bring to every client we serve
